D.C. United parts ways with Markus Halsti

D.C. United and Markus Halsti have mutually agreed to terminate the Finnish midfielder's contract, the club announced Wednesday.

The 32-year-old made 14 appearances last season for the club but failed to feature this season with the Black and Red as he battled with injuries. He signed for the club out of Malmo in January 2015.

"We thank Markus for his contributions to the club," general manager Dave Kasper said in a statement. "We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors."
