D.C. United goalkeeper Bill Hamid will reportedly make his first start of the 2016 season in his club's upcoming fixture against Sporting Kansas City after missing the first 12 matches of the season, according to Steven Goff of the Washington Post.

Hamid underwent surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee in January of 2016, and returned to training two weeks ago after being sidelined for four months.

In his stead, Andrew Dykstra and Travis Worra shared responsibilities between the posts.

D.C. United head coach Ben Olsen said Hamid is "ready to go" and will "most likely" start against sporting Kansas City on Friday at Children's Mercy Park after training for a full two weeks.

"Each day he has gotten stronger," Olsen said of his keeper.
