The Kansas City Royals appear to be moving quickly to add some depth at third base after losing Mike Moustakas for the season on Wednesday.

The team has reportedly agreed to a minor-league deal with infielder Steve Tolleson, according to Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com.

He'll report to Triple-A Omaha, where it's likely he'll serve as a depth piece who could be called up as the season progresses. Royals manager Ned Yost told reporters Wednesday night that Cheslor Cuthbert will be the team's starting third baseman going forward.

Tolleson, owns a .245/.299/.372 batting line over parts of four major-league seasons with the Baltimore Orioles, Oakland Athletics, and Toronto Blue Jays, but hasn't appeared in a big-league game since May 26, 2015.

The 32-year-old played just eight games for the Orioles' Triple-A affiliate in Norfolk this season before being released by the team on Monday.
