Temple's Josh Brown to undergo surgery on Achilles

Bill Streicher / USA TODAY Sports

It's not the news Temple wanted to hear, but starting point guard Josh Brown will undergo surgery Wednesday to repair a left Achilles tendon injury, the team announced.

Brown, who'll be a senior next year, reportedly suffered the injury Friday while playing at the Owls' facility.

Brown averaged 8.3 points and 4.9 assists per outing last year, and led the AAC in minutes per game with 36.2. Temple has yet to release a timetable for his potential return.
