Seahawks' Sherman won't rule out possible Lynch return

Marshawn Lynch's retirement process has been far from the ordinary.

The 30-year-old announced his retirement abruptly in a cryptic tweet during Super Bowl 50, which is reportedly the only notification he's given the Seatte Seahawks about his future plans.

Lynch hasn't made any efforts to dispute his apparent retirement, but teammate Richard Sherman isn't willing to rule out a possible return of Beast Mode.

"I don't put anything past him," Sherman said, according to Conor Orr of NFL.com. "He's about as predictive as a pair of dice. So I don't try to call his plays. But obviously, it's going to be different. We got a little sample of it last year ... I think we're prepared for it in some aspects, but you really never want to be prepared for that.

"You really would hope he comes back. In the back of your mind, you hope he comes back and plays another year."

Obviously replacing a player like Lynch doesn't come easily, but the Seahawks are well prepared. Last season's rookie breakout star Thomas Rawls will return, while a trio of rookie running backs have been added through the draft, but the personality and presence of Lynch is unlikely to be repeated by any player.
