Peter Jok has withdrawn his name from the 2016 NBA Draft and will return to Iowa for his senior season.

"I went through the process. My mom wanted me to come back to school," Jok told the Des Moines Register on Friday. "This is going to be my team. I want to be the leader. I'm ready to get my degree and lead this team next year."

His decision to return to the college ranks is a massive boost for the Hawkeyes, who lost leading scorer Jarrod Uthoff to graduation. Jok was second on the team in scoring, averaging 16.1 points per game, while making 40 percent of his shots from beyond the arc.

The 6-foot-6 guard was one of the most improved players in the country last season, boosting his scoring average by nine points a game, while also contributing in all areas on the court.

After another season to further develop his offensive skill set, Jok could see himself vault into the first round of the 2017 NBA Draft.
