Casey hopes to get Valanciunas involved in Game 5

Toronto Raptors head coach Dwane Casey hopes to get Jonas Valanciunas on the court in Game 5 after the injured center received a DNP-coach's decision in a Game 4 win Monday.

"Hopefully we can get him involved," Casey told reporters Tuesday.

After successfully going through pregame shootaround, Valanciunas was made available in Game 4 against the Cleveland Cavaliers. He'd missed the previous seven games with a sprained right ankle.

Casey, however, opted not to rush Valanciunas back as the Cavaliers spaced the floor by using Channing Frye at center - a difficult matchup for Valanciunas even if he's at 100 percent.

"It depends on the lineup they have on the court," Casey said. "I know he's our starting center but it's tough to put him out there if they're playing Channing Frye big minutes at the 5."

Cavaliers head coach Tyronn Lue wasn't expecting Valanciunas to be made available for Game 4, and noted he'll be a focal point for his team now that he knows the big man is on the verge of a return.

"Valanciunas brings a physical presence," Lue said Monday. "He brings a post presence, gives them a chance to slow the basketball down, and he can score down low. With his presence it gives a different dynamic to their team outside of just a jump-shooting team and two guards attacking. So it's a different look for us, but we'll be ready for it."

Bismack Biyombo has excelled filling in for Valanciunas. Since moving into the starter's role, Biyombo is averaging 8.9 points, 12.1 rebounds and 2.4 blocks in eight games.
