Report: Former Arizona State guard Andre Spight joins Northern Colorado

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

Almost three months after leaving Arizona State, Andre Spight has found a new home, as the 6-foot-3 guard is transferring to Northern Colorado, a source told ESPN's Jeff Borzello.

Spight had a productive first year with the Sun Devils before deciding to leave the program prior to season's end. The junior college transfer averaged 6.6 points in just 19.5 minutes per game off the bench for Bobby Hurley's club.

Northern Colorado struggled to a 10-21 record in 2015-16, finishing ninth in the Big Sky. That record, combined with an NCAA investigation into possible violations, resulted in the firing of coach B.J. Hill. As Jeff Linder takes command of the program, an addition of a scorer like Spight should certainly help get the Bears headed in the right direction.

As per NCAA transfer regulations, Spight will be forced to sit out the 2016-17 campaign before becoming eligible the following year.
