Barboza-Melendez in the works for UFC Fight Night Chicago

It appears Edson Barboza will make a quick turnaround after dismantling Anthony Pettis at UFC 197 in April.
The UFC is working to schedule Barboza versus former Strikeforce lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez on July 23 at UFC Fight Night Chicago, UFC Tonight announced on Wednesday.
Melendez is coming off a year-long suspension, last fighting in a June 2015 loss to Eddie Alvarez via split decision.
After rebounding from a December choke out at the hands of Tony Ferguson, Barboza put his impressive striking ability on display with a unanimous decision over Pettis in April.
Barboza's only losses in the last three years are to top lightweights Michael Johnson, Daniel "Cowboy" Cerrone and Ferguson. He has seven wins over that span.
