Curry wins PBWA's Magic Johnson Award
Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry has been named this year's recipient of the Magic Johnson Award by the Professional Basketball Writers Association.
The award is given to the player who "best combines excellence on the basketball court with cooperation and dignity in dealing with the media and the public," according to the PBWA.
The four other finalists for the honor were the New York Knicks' Carmelo Anthony, the Warriors' Draymond Green, the Portland Trail Blazers' Damian Lillard, and the Atlanta Hawks' Paul Millsap.
Curry led the NBA in scoring this season with 30.1 points per game, which included a new league record of 402 3-pointers. His Warriors finished with the best regular-season record ever at 73-9, and own a 1-0 series lead over the Trail Blazers in the Western Conference semifinals.
