Memphis Grizzlies officials met with San Antonio Spurs assistant James Borrego about their head coaching vacancy Sunday, sources told The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Borrego helmed the Orlando Magic for 30 games as interim coach last season. When he was passed over for Scott Skiles last spring, Borrego returned to Gregg Popovich's staff with the Spurs, where he began his NBA coaching career in 2003.

The Grizzlies appear to be doing their due diligence with their coaching search, reportedly having interviewed several candidates including Patrick Ewing and Nate Tibbetts.
