Report: Jaguars won't extend Luke Joeckel

The Jacksonville Jaguars declined to pick up the fifth-year contract option on left tackle Luke Joeckel on Monday, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

The 2013 second overall pick has struggled to solidify his role on the blind side and will likely compete with free-agent signee Kelvin Beachum for a starting spot.

Joeckel started 14 games at left tackle in 2015 and may have left a bad taste in general manager David Caldwell's mouth when he allowed five sacks in a Week 17 performance against the Houston Texans.

The Jags could also move the Texas A&M product over to the right side to compete with 2014 signing Jermey Parnell.
