Tunsil's attorney: Ole Miss texts 'taken out of context'

The text messages shared on Laremy Tunsil's Instagram account suggesting the former Ole Miss tackle received money from college coaches aren't as damaging as they appear, according to his attorney.

"Once the truth comes out about that text, and I hate to make a pun, but the text is taken out of context," Tunsil's lawyer, Steve Farese, said on Sirius XM's Mad Dog Sports Radio, according to Daniel Paulling of The Clarion-Ledger. "And once it is found out what this is all about, it will be much to do about nothing."

Ole Miss was already under NCAA investigation when the screenshots of texts between Tunsil and Rebels associate athletic director John Miller popped up online. Five of the accusations facing Hugh Freeze's program reportedly relate to Tunsil.

The first-round pick of the Miami Dolphins admitted at the NFL draft that he received money from Ole Miss while playing there, but has refused to further address the situation.

In response to the damning revelation, Ole Miss said it's looking into Tunsil's comment. A spokesperson declined to say whether the school has spoken to the NCAA about the alleged texts.
