South Carolina picks up 4-star athlete Shawn Smith

Will Muschamp is getting the opportunity to work on the recruiting trail, and he's been rewarded with a commitment from four-star athlete Shawn Smith as a result.

The Brunswick, Ga., native officially committed to South Carolina on Saturday, making his decision known via Twitter:

Smith is ranked by ESPN as the No. 18 athlete in the 2017 prospect pool, and the No. 242 overall recruit.

Smith passed up scholarship offers from Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi State, and others in favor of the Gamecocks.
