Aston Villa equals club-record run of 11 straight Premier League defeats

Things continue to go from bad to worse for Aston Villa.

Already relegated from the Premier League and waiting to be put out of its misery, Villa suffered a demoralising 3-2 loss at Watford on Saturday, equalling a club-record run of 11 consecutive defeats in the top flight of English football after Troy Deeney scored two goals in second-half stoppage time.

It was perhaps appropriate that Deeney was the one to inflict further pain on Villa, as he grew up supporting Birmingham City, the Villans' crosstown rival.

The defeat means Villa is still in search of its first victory, or draw for that matter, since Feb. 6, when the club defeated Norwich City 2-0.
