It appears defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson will remain with the New York Jets for the foreseeable future.

Despite being the subject of rampant trade speculation, Jets general manager Mike Maccagnan confirmed once again that he doesn't intend to trade the Pro Bowler. Wilkerson, who is recovering from surgery to repair his broken leg, is missing voluntary workouts with the team, and many believe he'll also be absent from mandatory minicamp in June.

No parties emerged with a suitable offer, Maccagnan confirmed.

"I don't envision that happening," the GM told ESPN's Rich Cimini when asked about the possibility of a trade.

New York drafted outside linebacker Darron Lee with its first-round selection, bolstering the team's front seven.

The Jets placed the franchise tag on Wilkerson, but the 26-year-old hasn't yet signed the tender, which will pay him $15.7 million for the upcoming season.

Both parties face a July 15 deadline for a new contract, otherwise Wilkerson will play under the stipulations of the franchise tag.
