Much of the worries surrounding the 2015 New York Mets were centered on whether they could hit enough to compete.

Their April performance at the plate should put any lingering concerns to rest.

The Mets hit two more homers in Saturday's 6-5 win over San Francisco to up their April tater total to 33, tying a club record for home runs in the opening month set in 2006.

Another club record was matched by Michael Conforto, who hit a double in his sixth straight game. The 23-year-old continued his torrid pace over the last week - he's hitting .484/.514/.871 since April 22 - and has reached base in 17 straight contests.

It's not just Conforto, though. The entire Mets lineup has been firing on all cylinders this month, and particularly during their current eight-game winning streak.

"The middle of our lineup has become a force that teams are going to have to deal with," manager Terry Collins told reporters before Saturday's victory.

That lineup will be tested on Sunday, though, as the Mets will have to get past Giants ace Madison Bumgarner to extend their winning streak to nine games.
