Not long after a team of French players set a Guinness World Record by completing a par-5 hole in 34.8 seconds, Bubba Watson set out to best that mark before playing at the Shenzhen International in China on the weekend.

Watson selected a 503-yard par-5, and decided to drive directly over a lake towards the green. After his tee shot landed in a bunker, longtime friend Randall Wells hit a perfect chip onto the green, setting up a short eagle putt for caddie Ted Scott, that was knocked down with ease.

In the end, Watson and co. finished the hole in 23 seconds - but won't be credited with the official record because no one from Guinness was present.
