Cavs' Mo Williams available to play Game 3 vs. Pistons

Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports

The Cleveland Cavaliers will have some extra offensive firepower coming off the bench for Friday night's Game 3 against the Detroit Pistons with the return of Mo Williams.

The 33-year-old veteran point guard has been activated by the team and will be available to play at The Palace of Auburn Hills.

Williams missed the final three games of the regular season and the first two games of the playoffs due to his problematic left knee. He returned to Cleveland during the team's last road trip of the year to undergo an MRI.

In 41 total appearances, Williams averaged 8.2 points, 2.4 assists, and 1.8 rebounds on 43.7 percent shooting. The Cavaliers won eight of their first nine games with him in the starting lineup as Kyrie Irving continued his recovery from a fractured kneecap.

Cleveland possesses a 2-0 series lead over the Pistons heading into Game 3.
