Dayton's Charles Cooke to test NBA draft waters

Dayton guard Charles Cooke is declaring for the NBA draft, but won't hire an agent, the team announced Thursday.

"Charles and I have discussed the new legislation regarding the 2016 NBA Draft Combine and early entrant opportunity, and I support him entering his name into the 2016 NBA Draft," head coach Archie Miller said. "This is a great opportunity for him to find out where he stands in his quest to play at the highest level. It will allow him to take advantage of the new rules and learn as much about his status as he can."

Cooke joined the Flyers last season after spending two years at James Madison. He was named First Team All-Atlantic 10 after averaging 15.6 points and 5.8 rebounds in 2015-16.

The junior can opt to return to school at any point before May 25 since he has not hired representation.
