Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson is putting the league on notice after undergoing ankle surgery Wednesday.

Peterson was named a first-team All-Pro last season, starring as one of the key members of the NFL's fifth-ranked defense.

Although he was in peak form last year, Peterson believes he'll be even better next season after having a lingering issue in his ankle corrected.

"I'll be back," Peterson said according to the Cardinals' official website. "It's a six-to-eight week process. It was just something I needed to get cleaned up and it's going to make me better this year."

Peterson was at the team's facility riding on a scooter and is fully confident he'll be at full health by the time the season begins.

"I don't like missing games, missing practice," Peterson said. "It was just something I needed to fight through. We just felt this was the proper time to get it done. This will definitely increase my range of motion. I'll be more explosive. Just looking for better results."
