Former Texas A&M TE Jordan Davis transfers to Louisville

Jamie Rhodes-USA TODAY Sports

Former Texas A&M tight end Jordan Davis is headed north for the remainder of his college career.

Davis, who announced in February he was leaving the SEC program, is transferring to Louisville after visiting the school on the weekend.

The 6-foot-4, 262-pounder saw limited action in his freshman season with the Aggies, catching just two balls for seven yards and one touchdown. Davis was a highly ranked recruit coming out of high school in the class of 2015, ranking as the seventh-best tight end in the country.

As per NCAA transfer regulations, Davis will have to sit out the 2016 season before becoming available in 2017. He will have three seasons of eligibility remaining once he suits up for the Cardinals in game action.

Interestingly enough, the two schools met in the Music City Bowl in December, with Louisville winning 27-21.
