Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane sang his team's praises following a 5-1 win over Getafe on Saturday that moved Los Blancos within one point of La Liga leaders Barcelona, albeit with one extra match now played.

"Tonight we're going to sleep just one point behind the leaders," Zidane told the club's official website. "The most important thing is the work we're doing and not to look beyond that. We are only ever looking to the next match.

"We're getting closer to La Liga all the time and I'm happy with how everyone is working. We know that if we're going to achieve something, we have to believe we can do it."

The victory was made even sweeter for Madrid after Barcelona crashed out of the Champions League midweek, a loss to Atletico Madrid ending the Blaugrana's hopes for a repeat title in Europe's most prestigious contest.

Real Madrid advanced to the semifinals and remains in the hunt for a historic 11th Champions League crown, but Zidane said he "won't settle" for just the Champions League if the league title can be claimed, too.

"We'll keep going until the end. I like a challenge," he said. "We can't do that (settle). It doesn't work like that. We have to play every three days."

For now, Zidane can breathe a little easier, knowing his team is back in the La Liga race. He'll have one eye on Barcelona and Atletico Madrid on Sunday, too, as they take on Valencia and Granada, respectively.

"We'll watch their games, but the important thing is what we've done," he said. "For now, we are behind our rivals. We must keep going."
