The Kansas City Chiefs have selected offensive lineman Parker Ehinger out of Cincinnati in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

Ehinger is expected to play guard for the Chiefs. He's a reliable, fundamentally sound blocker who should begin his career as a depth player and have the chance to push for a larger role.

Parker Ehinger Bio

Position: OT
School: Cincinnati
College Experience: Senior
Height: 6-6
Weight: 310 lbs.

Strengths

  • Has good size and is durable, starting every game his junior and senior seasons. Seamlessly transitioned from right to left tackle in senior year.
  • Sets up in pass protection with balanced base and good posture. Keeps chin tucked and isn’t caught leaning very often. (NFL.com)
  • Gets off the ball well and shows pretty good athleticism and balance. Quick with his hands, and plays with pretty solid technique. (CBS Sports)

Weaknesses

  • His narrow base will push him inside at the next level and might keep him from being a starter. (CBS Sports)
  • Core strength is below desired level and he can be jarred by a hard punch. (NFL.com)
  • Plays with dead legs in space and change of direction is not functional. Opens up early against edge rush and gives away inside rush lane to counter moves. (NFL.com)
