Report: N.C. State nabs star graduate transfer Joseph Scelfo

Bob DeChiara-USA TODAY Sports

South Alabama's All-Sun Belt center Joseph Scelfo will make the move to N.C. State and be eligible for the 2016 season as a graduate transfer, a source told Bruce Feldman of Fox Sports.

Scelfo started 25 games for the Jaguars in his career, and is the son of NFL assistant coach Chris Scelfo. The 6-foot-1, 300-pounder is a major addition for the Wolfpack, who lost starting center Quinton Schooley to graduation following the 2015 season.

The Wolfpack's offensive line struggled mightily in 2015, allowing 39 sacks, which ranked 11th-worst in the entire country. Scelfo's addition brings some much-needed experience to a youthful unit.
