Manchester United's Januzaj close to returning from injury

Adnan Januzaj is edging closer to a return from injury as he gets set to suit up for the Manchester United under-21 team, manager Louis van Gaal announced.

The young Belgian, who has not played for the senior team since United's win over Arsenal in February, has missed the last two matches with the youth team because of a hamstring injury.

Although there's no timetable for his return to the first team, Van Gaal is optimistic that Januzaj has returned to full fitness after being sidelined the last three weeks.

"Adnan is injured at the minute," Van Gaal told MUTV. "It's more or less an old injury that is coming in the last three weeks. Now, he is in a recuperation period; he is already on the pitch, so he's coming back."

Januzaj last played for the reserves March 11 against Liverpool, where he played as a striker, before sustaining the injury.

The under-21 could clinch the title during one of its final three matches against Tottenham, Southampton, and Chelsea.
