West Ham United skipper Mark Noble will not receive any punishment for carrying Manchester United's Ander Herrera off the pitch Wednesday.

After the Hammers stalwart deemed his opponent to be playacting, he ensured his display continued off the pitch so play could continue. Many on the United bench were incensed, however, particularly because Herrera had to be substituted due to the issue shortly afterwards.

West Ham indirectly benefited from Noble's endeavours, too, drawing to within a goal when James Tomkins nodded home three minutes later. BBC Sport and various other sources report that the 28-year-old captain will receive no punishment from the Football Association for taking matters into his own hands.

West Ham was eliminated from the FA Cup quarter-final stage in the midweek replay, concluding 112 years and 154 games in the competition at the Boleyn Ground.
