Giants sign running back Bobby Rainey

The New York Giants signed running back Bobby Rainey, the player confirmed on Instagram.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Rainey played sparingly for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, rushing for 18 yards on five carries last year. His best season occurred in 2013 where he rushed for 532 yards and five touchdowns in nine games.

The 28-year-old will compete with Rashad Jennings, Andre Williams, Shane Vereen, and Orleans Darkwa for carries.
