After being outscored 25-0 in their opening series with the Los Angeles Dodgers, the San Diego Padres are riding the red-hot bat of Matt Kemp in Colorado.

One night after going 4-for-6 with a homer and four RBIs in the high altitude at Coors Field, Kemp smashed two more home runs and collected another six RBIs in a 16-3 victory over the Rockies on Saturday night.

Kemp opened the scoring in the third with a towering solo shot to left field.

And then an inning later gave his team a commanding 7-0 advantage with a three-run shot.

He capped the outstanding performance with a two-RBI single in the sixth.

The outfielder's 10 RBIs are the most he's ever accrued in a series in his 11-year big-league career, and there's still one more game remaining in the series to be played Sunday.

Kemp enjoyed a resurgent 2015 campaign with the Padres after many injury-plagued seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers, hitting .265/.312/.563 with 23 homers and 100 RBIs in 154 games.

San Diego has now scored 29 runs over its last two games - the most the franchise has ever tallied in a two-game span - after failing to plate a run in its first three contests.
