Pastner admits Georgia Tech turnaround won't 'happen overnight'

Given the success of ACC schools in this year's NCAA tournament, Georgia Tech has a long way to go to compete in the conference.

New head coach Josh Pastner conceded as much Friday, and knows he has his work cut out for him to turn things around.

"I mean, look, it's not going to happen overnight," Pastner told reporters Friday. "We're going to have to take a step back to take two steps forward. That doesn't mean we're not going to try to win every game next year and compete, but it is what it is."

The Yellow Jackets have just one winning campaign in the past three years and haven't made the NCAA tournament since 2010. Not only that, but Georgia Tech is also losing its top four scorers from last season.

Pastner's first order of business is probably going to be to hit the recruiting trail hard.
