The Toronto Blue Jays are shuffling the batting order, again.
Kevin Pillar will return to the top of the batting order as the the Blue Jays host the Texas Rangers on Thursday.
Pillar struggled in the leadoff role to begin the year, and the club has been looking for a spot where he might thrive ever since.
Split | G | PA | R | H | BA/OBP/SLG |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Batting 1st | 12 | 52 | 5 | 9 | .188/.235/.271 |
Batting 6th | 2 | 7 | 0 | 2 | .286/.286/.286 |
Batting 7th | 5 | 20 | 2 | 7 | .412/.500/.765 |
Batting 8th | 7 | 27 | 2 | 10 | .385/.407/.423 |
Batting 9th | 2 | 8 | 2 | 2 | .250/.250/.375 |
The seventh spot in the batting order is where Pillar found the most success, but with inconsistency at the top of the lineup, manager John Gibbons is hoping his center fielder can act as a spark plug.
