UCF QB Bo Schneider transferring to Pitt

Jim Dedmon / USA TODAY Sports

UCF quarterback Bo Schneider is transferring to Pitt, he announced via Twitter.

Schneider, a freshman in 2015, threw for 534 yards, two touchdowns, and seven picks while serving most of the season as the backup pivot.

The Dallas native will sit out the 2016 season, per NCAA undergraduate transfer rules, and be eligible to suit up for the Panthers in 2017. The move to Pitt reunites Schneider with offensive coordinator Matt Canada, who tried to recruit the 6-foot-3 passer to NC State when he was a coach with the Wolfpack.

Pitt's incumbent starter, Nate Peterman, is set to exhaust his fifth year of eligibility in 2016.
