Thomas Sirk's 2016 season could be in jeopardy.

The Duke quarterback suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon Tuesday morning during a workout, the team announced. There is no timetable for his return.

It's a tough blow for the Blue Devils, who have been on the rise in the ACC in recent years. Duke has earned a bowl appearance in four consecutive seasons, defeating Indiana in the Pinstripe Bowl back in December.

David Cutcliffe's crew also secured four commits from the ESPN 300 during last week's National Signing Day.

Sirk threw 19 touchdowns with eight interceptions last season. If he's not ready to start the 2016 campaign, the Blue Devils may be forced to turn to sophomore Parker Boehme behind center.
