Former Montreal Alouettes star and BYU receiver Ben Cahoon has been named the Cougars' new receivers coach, the team announced Wednesday.

Cahoon returns to BYU as receivers coach for the second time after serving the same role from 2011-13.

The Utah native suited up for the Cougars from 1996-97, hauling in 68 receptions for 1,097 yards and six touchdowns.

He continued his career in the CFL with the Alouettes, with whom he played 13 seasons, winning three Grey Cups and earning a spot in the Canadian Football Hall of Fame. He also retired as the league's all-time leader in receptions, with 1,017.
