Hulking defensive lineman Titus Failauga has been dubbed the breakout performer at Oregon State's ongoing preseason camp, winning plaudits for his dominating, physical presence.

"He's one of the most physical guys we have on the defensive line," teammate Lavonte Barnett said of Failauga, according to Gina Mizell of The Oregonian. "He dominates. He does his job every play. You can't ask any more out of him. He's grown so much. He's taken strides and leaps this offseason. I know he has a lot of great things coming this season.

"On the field, he has that monster, and we love it."

A sophomore, Failauga played eight games as a reserve end last season, registering three tackles and a quarterback hurry.

Foreshadowing his strong summer, he recorded four tackles in the team's spring game this past April.

As for his biggest contributions to the line, Failauga points to his arms.

"My long arms can help me distance myself from the O-linemen from grabbing me," Failauga said after Tuesday's practice. "That's probably my biggest weapon."
