LSU's Maquedius Bain to leave program; Mickey Johnson intends to return

LSU defensive lineman Maquedius Bain announced Monday on Twitter that he intends to leave the program, only days after he was reinstated by the team following a six-week suspension.

The 6-foot-4, 299-pound Bain said he intends to enroll at Pearl River Community College in Poplarville, Miss.

Bain, quarterback Anthony Jennings, and defensive back Dwayne Thomas were suspended in June after they were arrested for unauthorized entry into an inhabited dwelling.

They were reinstated last week after the prosecuting attorney confirmed that none of them would face charges stemming from the incident.

The Tigers, however, quickly regained another defensive lineman to offset Bain's departure.

Mickey Johnson, who flirted with transferring this past spring, has returned to the program and will report for preseason camp on Wednesday, school officials confirmed to Ross Dellenger of The Advocate.
