Report: Notre Dame's Greg Bryant suspended 4 games for violating team rules

Kirby Lee / USA TODAY Sports

Notre Dame will be without running back Greg Bryant for the Fighting Irish's first four games after the junior was suspended for an undisclosed violation of team rules, Blue & Gold Illustrated reports.

Bryant took a medical redshirt as a freshman, then served as Tarean Folston's backup in 2014. Bryant finished as the team's second-leading rusher, producing 289 yards on 54 carries and scoring three rushing touchdowns in 12 games played.

Bryant was expected to remain in a backup role behind Folston, so his suspension likely won't have a major impact on the team.
