Ex-Oklahoma RB Keith Ford transferring to Texas A&M

Having weighed his options after deciding to leave Oklahoma last week, Keith Ford will soon be headed to College Station.

The transfer running back was admittedly leaning toward Texas A&M after making his visit with the program Thursday, but he later informed Taylor Hamm of 247Sports that he intends to make the move official.

"I'm going to Aggieland," Ford said. "It feels great. When I went up there today you could really tell how much time they put into their players' futures. They care about you getting your degree as much as your success on the field.

"What really helped me come to my decision was when I sat down with coach (Kevin) Sumlin. It didn’t sound like it was rehearsed or anything. He was just talking to me man-to-man and laid out his expectations for me. He also wanted me to believe in him. After I heard all of that I was like, 'Yea, I'm coming here.' I can't wait to get up there."

A five-star recruit upon joining Oklahoma, Ford started three games as a sophomore before being suspended for academic and team violations.

Though he'll be required to sit out one year after officially transferring to Texas A&M, Ford will have two seasons of collegiate eligibility remaining.
