David Beckham may have found an unlikely partner in his quest for a Miami soccer stadium.

Beckham is scheduled to meet with University of Miami president Donna Shalala on Friday about partnering on a soccer-football stadium, according to Michelle Kaufman of the Miami Herald.

The partnership could be a good fit. Beckham needs a viable stadium in order to get a Major League Soccer franchise in Miami and the Hurricanes have been playing at Sun Life Stadium since the Orange Bowl closed its doors after the 2007 season.

MLS commissioner Don Garber and Miami-Dade mayor Carlos Gimenez are also expected to attend the meeting.
