Ohio State AD on Braxton Miller: 'He's not going anywhere'

Despite the relatively crowded quarterback group that's taken shape at Ohio State, it appears Braxton Miller is leaning toward staying in Columbus for his senior season.

Given the emergence of younger quarterbacks J.T. Barrett and Cardale Jones, transferring to another program has widely been considered an option for Miller. Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith doesn't see that happening.

"No. He's not going anywhere," Smith told Eric Seger of Eleven Warriors last week. "Where's the rumors? He's never said that."

"If you pay attention to him, he's not going anywhere," Smith reiterated. "He loves it here first and foremost. He has a child. He's from here. He's in a good position. We have his medical records. Keep in mind, he's had challenges physically over the years. So he knows that this is a place where we're going to help him, we're going to take care of him."

While the opportunity to start will almost certainly be a factor in any decision Miller makes going forward, Smith seems certain the dynamic signal-caller will elect to finish his college career where it started.

Either way, as Ohio State's roster currently stands, the Buckeyes' quarterback competition is shaping up to be the most intriguing position battle college football has to offer heading into the 2015 season.
