PHOTO: UAB football player wore his helmet to graduation, snubbed school president

A former member of the now defunct UAB football program, Derek Slaughter, wore his football helmet to his graduation ceremony Saturday.

Slaughter then refused to shake hands with university president Ray L. Watts, though it did appear he had some choice words for him.

Credit to Slaughter for making the statement, particularly in a week in which an independent study shows the football program was making the university money.
