Alabama head coach Nick Saban met with the media Monday for the first time since news broke on the weekend that defensive tackle Jonathan Taylor had been dismissed from the program following his second domestic violence arrest in under a year.

"I'm not sorry for giving him an opportunity," Saban told reporters. "I'm sorry for how things worked out."

Saban added that Taylor came to Tuscaloosa with specific guidelines to follow and zero tolerance, which he didn't live up to.

Saban noted that Taylor did everything that was asked of him while he was with the program, including psychological profiling and counseling.

Taylor was dismissed from Georgia last July following an alleged domestic violence incident and signed on with Alabama in January.

He was arrested Saturday evening following an alleged domestic violence incident that occurred earlier in the day, and charged with domestic violence third-degree assault and domestic violence third-degree criminal mischief by the Tuscaloosa County Police Department.
