Urban Meyer warns Ohio State against brawl vs. Michigan

Urban Meyer wants the battle between Ohio State and Michigan on Saturday to stay on the field.

With the Buckeyes hosting the Wolverines for the 111th rivalry game this Saturday, the Ohio State head coach has warned his players that they would be risking dismissal should they brawl with their opponents.

"He said he wants the game to be very intense, but if anybody throws a punch they're dismissed," said Ohio State linebacker Curtis Grant said Monday.

"He pretty much put it out there yesterday. There's no telling what will happen if we get in a fight this year."

In last year's meeting, Ohio State players Dontre Wilson and Marcus Hall were ejected because of the fight. Hall subsequently missed the Big Ten championship game against Michigan State because of the suspension, and the Buckeyes were defeated.

The Ohio State head coach made it abundantly clear during his first team meeting this week that he would have zero tolerance for fight behavior.

"I had a talk with our team about that, and absolutely no case for that," said Meyer.

"Intensity? Absolutely. There's a certain mentality we need to take to this field, but that's not acceptable."
