College Football Playoff Rankings: Alabama No. 1, Mississippi State falls to No. 4

The College Football Playoff selection committee revealed its fourth set of rankings Tuesday.

There's a new team atop the rankings for the first time since the original rankings were released on Oct. 28. Another first for the rankings is the presence of only one undefeated team - 10-0 Florida State - who stays in playoff position.

The SEC placed two teams in playoff spots and tied the Pac-12 for the most teams in the top 25 with six. The Big Ten was the third-best conference, placing five teams inside the rankings.

USC made the biggest jump from unranked to No. 19, while Arizona State and Nebraska had the biggest slides, each falling seven spots.
