Upset of the Night: No. 24 LSU takes out No. 3 Ole Miss

It's pretty safe to say a lot of people didn't see this coming.

A strong but flawed LSU team going up against an undefeated titan like Ole Miss, the expectations weren't exactly high for the Tigers to pull away with the victory.

The end result was a little different than those expectations.

After LSU tight end Logan Stokes connected on a three-yard touchdown catch thrown by quarterback Anthony Jennings with 5:07 left in the fourth quarter, it gave the Tigers the 10-7 lead they needed to pull ahead and ultimately win the game.

While that was certainly the biggest play of the game, the biggest moment came with Ole Miss in possession of the ball late. Bo Wallace threw an interception right into the hands of Ronald Martin to put a stamp on LSU's win.

It was no doubt an emotional game with the passing of LSU head coach Les Miles' mother Friday night. The coach later responded to a post-game question from ESPN's Heather Cox about whether he felt his mother's presence with team Saturday night.

"She was there a bunch to be honest with you," Miles said.

LSU doesn't have it any easier when they face Alabama on Nov. 8 at home, but after tonight's performance anything seems possible for the Tigers who showed immense heart in this huge win.
