UCLA's Takkarist McKinley: Colorado plays 'dirty'

Robert Hanashiro / USA TODAY Sports

One UCLA player has some fightin' words for Colorado's offensive linemen.

Bruins defensive lineman Takkarist McKinley knows the Buffaloes have allowed just 12 sacks this season, the second-fewest in the Pac-12.

He'd tip his cap to them, too, if only he thought they did it without being cheap.

“Colorado and their offensive line, I feel like if we get off with speed, we can beat them,” the sophomore said, according to the Los Angeles Times's Everett Cook. “They’re dirty, but if you use your hands, use your speed, rip and dip, we can beat them with speed.”

McKinley wasn't short on saying exactly how Colorado goes about it, either.

“They try to chop block you. They try to tear your ACL," he said. "To me, that’s dirty. But to them, it’s their job. To me, it’s pretty dirty.”
