Who says Florida State doesn't give second chances?

Chad Kelly went from having a shot at being the starting quarterback at Clemson this season to watching his former school on the sidelines as an FSU recruit, according to a report from Josh Newberg of 247 Sports. In the spring, Clemson coach Dabo Swinney dismissed Kelly from the program.

After not playing well in the first half of an April game, Kelly got into a verbal altercation with coaches at halftime, according to ESPN. He was benched for the rest of the game.

"He has had a pattern of behavior that is not consistent with the values of our program," Swinney said at the time. "I hope he will mature and grow from this and become the man and player I know he can be. I wish him nothing but the best in the future academically and athletically."

Kelly is the nephew of former Buffalo Bills quarterback and Hall of Famer Jim Kelly.
