Baylor calls itself 'WideReceiverU' after latest Biletnikoff list

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

Baylor posted a tweet referring to the school as "#WideReceiverU" after the Biletnikoff award added freshman KD Cannon and 11 other receivers to its watch list.

Cannon, who leads the nation in receiving yards with 471, joins fellow Baylor seniors Antwan Goodley and Levi Norwood on the list. The latter two pass-catchers were initially named among 55 others in the preseason watch list.

The tweet may have been a slight exaggeration for Baylor.

Norwood, a running back, had wrist surgery in early September after sustaining the injury in Baylor's season opener against SMU. While he caught four passes for 26 yards in that game, he hasn't played since. Norwood has recorded 40 receptions in each of the past two seasons.

Goodley hasn't played since the SMU game either, after he aggravated his quadriceps. He didn't record a stat in that game.

The bright spot undoubtedly remains Cannon, who has found the end zone five times in three games. Saturday against Buffalo, the freshman put up 189 yards receiving on six catches and a touchdown.
