Clemson coach Swinney on Florida State: 'They're not robots, they are human'

Clemson is headed to Tallahassee for a critical Week 4 game against Florida State, and Tigers head coach Dabo Swinney isn't afraid of facing the undefeated Seminoles.

"They're not robots, they are human," Swinney told reporters Tuesday.

While the idea of robot players is a frightening prospect (and perhaps a post-apocalyptic glimpse into the future), it's hard to argue Swinney's point here.

After all, would a robot college football star be programmed to express confidence?

"Jameis Winston is even more confident now and he was a pretty confident player last season," Swinney added.

Florida State routed Clemson 51-14 at Memorial Stadium in 2013.

The Tigers (1-1) and Seminoles (2-0) battle in a (presumably) all-human matchup on Saturday night.
