Georgia freshman tailback Nick Chubb is expected to miss Saturday's game against Troy after undergoing surgery Monday to repair a thumb fracture suffered during practice, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Chubb played through the injury in Georgia's loss to South Carolina last Saturday, carrying the ball four times for 34 yards.
It is unknown when Chubb will return.
“They said they would see how he’s doing (Tuesday) before they make that decision (about how long he’ll be out),” Chubb’s mother, Lavelle, told the AJC.
Chubb has 104 rushing yards on eight carries this season, good for a 13 yards per carry average that's tops in the SEC.
